Local surf club identities have denied misappropriation of federal government funds and have labeled the accusations as nothing more than people dreaming up crazy connections. At a Black Tie event last month at the Point Lonsdale Surf Club, twenty 10-12 year old members received $200,000 scholarships each, to elite Melbourne Private Colleges.
The fact that they have been guaranteed $4 million in funding no matter who wins the federal election has raised suspicions as to the exact amount being paid out one day after the announcements. When quizzed further, a representative from the club said that these allegations are preposterous as we always have millions of dollars to give away being an exclusive rich elite group from Melbourne who have exclusive Summer Use of an epic venue by the beach.
To be honest, we don’t need any government funding, but we will take what we can and us it how we need. I’m sure the community will support this stance as after all, we do provide a safe 20 m of beach, 100 hours a year.
