WLFP is rumoured to be investigated over grubby tactics after allegedly beating both Fairfax and News Corp to secure its purchase of the Rip Rumour. After tense and lengthy negotiations WLFP have finally brokered a deal in what many locals and other media outlets are calling an unfair duopoly of media influence within the borough. It is reported that the Rip Rumour was purchased for $52 way over what it has been valued at by any business valuer or sane person. Sources close to the WLFP have said that the online media giant obtained a huge collection of photo stock as part of the deal including 384000 pictures of the Point Lonsdale pier and 567934 pictures of David McDonalds children as they attended local events or participated in school sports and nippers. An unnamed source from WLFP advised that nothing would change after the take over saying “ It will still be mainly a platform for retired residents to air their petty grievances and write letters to the editor, a hand writing specialists has been sourced to decipher old person hand writing to assist in this area. “We shall also be keeping the paper the same size as we know it’s mainly used to line the bottom of bird cages.” “We are very confident with on going support from our advertising revenue made up exclusively from adverts from David McDonald and The local real estate agents we can keep churning out this high quality totally relevant literature for the next ten years.
