Minty, Grout, Tolhurst, Waters, Pierce … Dripping..?
News reaches WLFP that a new candidate has thrown her hat in to the ring for the seat of local council; eight year old Lizzie Dripping. Lizzie who until recently showed no interest in the sturm und drang of local politics has been encouraged by her wealthy mother and artistic father to stand in the 2020 BoQ election.
Lizzie’s mother tells us “We believe the truth can only be seen through the eyes of a child. My husband and I have spoken to Lizzie about our growing concerns for the environment, the arts and BLM and after some initial reticence she is now fully on board. We have contacted our friends at the national media outlets and hope to see coverage very soon”.
In what some are calling the Greta Effect, Lizzie’s mother is quick to denounce those that say she is using her child to promote her own ideology and the family business with some having the temerity to ask “What of the the harder issues facing the less well off members of the Borough, such as unemployment and mental health..?”
“They can go f**k themselves” she says.
